Terms of service
Last updated: 1 September 2026
Publishable draft. These terms are written for a UK limited company and are ready to publish once the company details below are confirmed. They are not a substitute for legal advice for your specific circumstances.
1. Who we are
This service is operated by CheckoutFix Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales (company number [Company number — set in settings], VAT number [VAT number — set in settings]), with its registered office at [Registered office address — set in settings]. In these terms, "we", "us" and "checkoutfix.com" mean CheckoutFix Ltd, and "you" means the customer opening a job.
2. What we provide
We provide on-demand emergency repair for WordPress and WooCommerce websites. Each job covers a single critical incident. We are a repair service only. We do not provide website design, custom plugin or theme development, bulk content entry, ongoing hosting, or maintenance retainers.
3. Price and VAT
One critical fix costs £50.00 including UK VAT (£41.67 plus £8.33 VAT at 20%). Payment is taken when you open the job. We issue a VAT invoice, available on your billing page, once payment has cleared.
4. Our targets
We aim to acknowledge your job within a few minutes and to resolve most issues within approximately two hours, 24 hours a day. These are best-effort targets shown transparently on your job's SLA clock. They are not guarantees, and complex faults, third-party outages, or delays outside our control may take longer.
5. Access and backups
To fix your site we need appropriate access (for example WordPress admin, SFTP, SSH, or hosting credentials). You confirm you are authorised to grant that access. We take a backup before making changes wherever technically possible, and we record it on your job timeline. You remain responsible for maintaining your own independent backups.
6. Refund promise
If we are unable to resolve your critical issue, we will refund your fee in full. Refunds do not apply where the requested work falls outside our service (see section 2), where you withdraw access before we can complete the work, or where the issue is resolved but you simply change your mind.
7. Your responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate information, to respond promptly when we need input, and to keep your account credentials secure. You must not ask us to carry out anything unlawful or that infringes third-party rights.
8. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, our total liability arising from a job is limited to the fee paid for that job. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, or data, except where caused by our negligence and not reasonably avoidable by you keeping your own backups.
9. Cancellation
Because our service is urgent, by opening a job you ask us to begin work immediately. You may cancel before work begins for a full refund. Once an engineer has started, refunds follow our refund promise in section 6.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and the courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
